MILPITAS, CA and TAIPEI, Taiwan – June 1, 2015 – Sigma Designs® (NASDAQ: SIGM), a leading provider of intelligent system-on-chip (SoC) solutions for Smart TV, Internet of Things (IoT) for Smart Home and set-top-boxes (STBs), today announced the launch of a highly integrated, single chip low power G.hn CG5300 family of chipsets minimizing overall bill of material (BOM) cost, form factor and design costs.
G.hn technology offers a single standard for connecting networked devices over any existing wired infrastructure (power-line, coax and phone-line) to meet the demands of multi-screen and expanded bandwidth content in today’s homes.
The CG5300 family enables large scale networks running a high number of simultaneous 4K video streams and guaranteed whole-home DVR coverage. With CG5300, end-users enjoy unprecedented convenience and flexibility because every power outlet, coaxial outlet and phone jack in-home becomes a network connectivity point on the same mesh network.
The CG5300 G.hn chipsets are optimized for 4K video and IPTV distribution and advanced multicast systems. The chipsets were designed to be easily embedded within a broad range of products such as:
With CG5300, service providers can reduce their installation costs and avoid truck rolls. Customers can easily self-install home entertainment networks for distribution of multiple 4K video streams without the need of professional installers.

The CG5300 is sampling to select OEM and ODM customers, and will be in volume production in 3Q 15.
