HomeGrid Forum G.hn Certification Testing

HomeGrid Forum (HGF) certification testing is for either G.hn silicon, or system products that have G.hn silicon in them.  There are two types of testing:

  1. Compliance Testing (for Silicon Certification): The Compliance test program is designed to verify that a G.hn chipset (usually mounted on a reference design board), including production software/firmware, complies with the ITU-T G.hn standards and any requirements developed by HomeGrid Forum as specified in the HomeGrid Forum Compliance Test Plans and the HomeGrid Forum Certification Processes document.  (Note: These documents are available to all members on the HomeGrid Forum Members page under C&I Programs.)
  2. Product Logo Certification Testing (for System Product Certification): The Product Certification test program is designed to verify that a commercially available product containing both HomeGrid Certified G.hn silicon and production software/firmware complies with the HomeGrid requirements regarding interoperability, performance,  etc. as specified in the HomeGrid Forum Product Logo Test Plans. (Note: This document is in an internal draft review state and will be released shortly.)

HGF members can submit their G.hn silicon or system products for Compliance testing or logo certification according to a suite of certification tests developed by HomeGrid Forum. All Certification test documents are available to any HomeGrid member in good standing. Only HGF members are permitted to submit G.hn silicon or system products for Certification testing. Non-members seeking compliance or logo certification must first become members of HGF.

Certification Testing is performed at an HGF accredited test house (ATH). Members’ products, which successfully complete Certification testing at an Accredited Test House, are awarded the relevant HGF Certification.

The current HomeGrid Forum accredited test house are ALLION Labs in Taipei, Taiwan and in Shenzhen, China. Contact information for ALLION Labs is at the bottom of this page.

HGF Certified G.hn silicon and system products are listed, along with their Test Certificates, on HGF web pages as follows:

  • The “Silicon Vendors” web page contains information on all HGF Certified silicon. The Test Certificate for silicon lists the medium, bandplan, etc. the silicon supports as well as any optional HGF features certified.
  • The "Certified Systems" web page contains information and links to HGF member system products that have been certified by HomeGrid.

Certification Test Fees: The fee to test G.hn silicon or products for certification is paid directly by vendors to the Authorized Test Houses.  Please contact the Labs for a testing quote.

HGF reserves the right to charge an additional fee for issuing any certification.
